Can you promote on r/ambientmusic?

A subreddit for fans of ambient music as a genre. Ambient music emphasizes tone and atmosphere over traditional musical structure or rhythm.

What its rules say about promotion

Casual self-promotion belongs in weekly thread.
Casual self-promotion means sharing a track with no/little description. We do not permit self-promotion outside of the weekly thread with one exception - if you’d like to feature an album on the subreddit please see Rule 2. Repeated violations will get you banned.
High-effort self-promotion of albums allowed outside weekly thread. 200 words minimum.
Your submission should meet these criteria: a 200 minimum word count; attempt to discuss your music in terms of techniques used, motivations, inspirations, etc.; no ChatGPT. Bandcamp codes will not contribute towards the word count.

  3. Ambient-adjacent genres allowed if they focus on tone/atmosphere over structure/rhythm.
    - This includes ambient dub, ambient techno, drone/noise, etc. if they do not prioritise beat/rhythm over atmosphere/tone. Rap/rock are very unlikely to be permitted.
  4. No AI content, long-form environmental ambience/loops, 432Hz, playlists.
    Posts like “relaxing… ambience” or “X-themed ambient music” are not permitted here and violating this repeatedly will get you banned.
  5. No Spotify or other subscription service links. Use YouTube, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, etc.
    Spotify does not allow users without an account to listen. Please use a link which is accessible by all.
  6. Submissions can be removed at our discretion if deemed low quality or unsuitable.
    If removed for low quality, please take this as an opportunity to resubmit your post with a greater focus on discussion/detail.
