NSFW Policy
*NO NSFW (Not Safe for Work)* All nudity and sexually gratuitous content, including depictions of sexual acts or suggestive poses, will be removed, and users will received escalating bans each time after. If you wouldn't show it to your co-worker, your old-fashion Nana, or somebody underaged, don't put it here. We do this so everyone can enjoy /r/artcommissions showing up in high-traffic feeds. If the subreddit gets marked NSFW, it won't be promoted by Reddit.
Monetary Compensation
* Budgets and prices must not be below $20 USD or $20/h per piece for personal use, or $100 for commercial use. * Minimum prices apply to each piece. Art with two characters is equivalent to at least two pieces. * All Patron/[Hiring] posts MUST mention an appropriate budget. * Payment must be in real money. * No giveaways, raffles, contests, auctions, spec work, or undercutting. * No payment in crypto, gift cards, wish lists, rev share, exposure, checks, game currency, subscriptions, etc..
Only Advertise Your Own Work
Do not advertise someone else's work on their behalf. This means you cannot advertise on behalf of your company, studio, partner, parent, kid, friend, or similar. **If you didn't make it, don't post it.** We also do not allow advertisements of external networks, such as Discord servers or Fiverr alternatives.
Advertising on Other's Posts
* Do not use another artist's post to promote your own work in the comments. We encourage you to promote yourself with your own post. Breaking this rule can lead to a permanent ban
Discussion Limitations
[Discussion] posts should not be a disguised attempt to promote your work. This means no posts showcasing recent works or asking for feedback. Discussion topics that become excessively common may be banned as well; this currently includes posts asking for pricing help or asking what a person's art is worth.

  1. Post Tagging and Relevancy
    All posts must be relate to commissioning art, and be tagged correctly. * If you wish to create art, use the "Artist" flair, and include [For Hire] in your title. * If you wish to request art, use the "Patron" flair and include [Hiring] in your title. * For art discussions, use the "Art Discussion" flair and [Discussion] tag in your title. * A minimum of 10 karma is required to post. * Comments must relate to the parent post and must not offer something that was not asked for.

  3. Artist Inclusion of Portfolio
    Artists looking to be hired must include a portfolio of their previous works. * For posts, your portfolio may be a link, or several images in the post itself. * For comments, you *must* include a portfolio link. We recommend ArtStation or Carrd. * A single image is NOT a portfolio. Do not make multiple comments to share images. * If your portfolio contains NSFW content, please tag it as such. * No traced works or YCH. Our Heavily Referenced Works policy is outlined in our wiki.

  5. Harassment
    * Be polite. Racism, sexism, or any other form of harassment or discrimination is not tolerated. * If you are habitually rude to other users or degrade the work of artists here you will be removed. * Snide criticism will result in a temporary ban. "I can do better" / "What's up with the hands?" are not helpful. * If you think artwork has been created with AI, traced, or stolen from another artist, contact us through Modmail.
  6. Only Advertise Your Own Work
    Do not advertise someone else's work on their behalf.   7. Advertising on Other's Posts

  8. Art Theft & Gen AI
    **Only post YOUR original work.** Swiping, Traced work, Gen AI, heavily referenced work, filtered photographs, re-skins, and other forms of other artists' work modified or copied in whole, or in part by you is not acceptable. *Tracing - If we can find your reference material with a reverse image search we will assume your work is at least partially plagiarized.*
  9. Multi Posting
    * We have a limit of one post per user every 72 hours. * Your post will be removed even if you delete the original. This prevents a select few from monopolizing the front page.
  10. Links from these sites are prohibited
    Links from the following sites are prohibited: * Google (Drive, Sites, etc.) * Dropbox * Instagram * Facebook * Twitter/X * Wix/wixsite * Fiverr * URL shorteners * Email addresses Any website that requires a Patron to create an account to see your work is forbidden. Look out for 'sketchy' websites to help prevent scams, viruses, and hoaxes.
  11. Prohibition of NFTs, Non-bespoke Work, and Art-adjacents
    All art should be original and bespoke, meaning pre-existing content is not allowed to be bought or sold here. Our definition of "Art" includes 2D visual art, both digital and traditional. Below is a non-exhaustive list of prohibited work types: * Voice acting * Music * Physical models such as crochet dolls * Writing * Adoptables * 3D models * Code and websites * NFTs or other cryptocurrency projects
