What its rules say about promotion
Don't spam or self-promote
Please do not spam or promote your own content, events, or products. Do not post links to kickstarters, gofundme pages, or your band's latest music video. Posts that appear to be "astroturfing" may also be removed.
All 5 rules of r/AskSeattle
- Be good
Our primary rule is to be good. No personal attacks, no name calling, no hate. In general - don't be a jerk. We have a low tolerance for nonsense - you will be warned or banned for being unnecessarily mean, purposefully unhelpful, or are otherwise trolling or inciting conflict. - Posts must be questions
The primary purpose of all posts should be to ask questions about Seattle-specific topics. Please do not use this subreddit as a place for off-topic discussion or debate (even if you phrase it as a question). Surveys *may* be allowed after receiving mod approval, and you must share results with the subreddit. - Keep it local
Please keep all questions and conversations relevant to Seattle or the general metro area. This isn't AskPortland :) - Don't spam or self-promote
Please do not spam or promote your own content, events, or products. Do not post links to kickstarters, gofundme pages, or your band's latest music video. Posts that appear to be "astroturfing" may also be removed. - No sales, classifieds, job postings or requests
Do not posts items wanted or for sale; this includes job postings or "who's hiring" posts.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
