What its rules say about promotion

No advertising
This subreddit is a space to discuss all things ADHD-related - through lived experience. It is not a place for pharmaceutical companies, doctors, medical clinics etc to be advertising. It is always best to speak with your doctor/s about what your best option/s are - before, during or after your ADHD diagnosis. They will be able to direct you to the appropriate services. Any advertisements will be removed due to these reasons. The promotion of studies and trials needs to be pre-approved.
All 13 rules of r/ausadhd
  1. Be Kind
No hate speech, bullying or talking down to people
  2. Talking ADHD
Be supportive of those posting, offer help and experience where you can
  3. Please search before posting
Chances are, your question may have been asked and answered
  4. No Flair? Post will be removed to be reposted
This is to ensure everything can be bundled together for easy access
  5. Do not ask if you have ADHD
Or ask what to say in an assessment. We will not help you and your post will be removed
  6. Always include your Australian state in your post
Every state has different approaches to ADHD management and medication legislation - this way people from your state can help. It applies to comments, as well, if discussing a state-based issue. As we all know, having ADHD makes it hard to remember to follow this rule, so we strongly encourage you to add a user "flair", as you will find under the settings page for the sub, which shows your state next to your name.
  7. Substance misuse and ADHD - ensure you cross post to addiction support subs
We know that often Adults with undiagnosed ADHD turn to substance misuse. It’s ok to talk about it here to gain insight from others, but this is not a recovery or addiction subreddit.
  8. Posts must not ask for ways to illegally or improperly obtain ADHD medicines
Although this is partly a forum to discuss stimulants, and other medicines for ADHD, it is not appropriate to ask here for ways to obtain stimulants or non-stimulants illegally or improperly. Any posts or comments asking to trade these medicines, where to buy them on the black market, and other questions such as how to avoid a positive drug urine test will be removed (non-exhaustive). The penalties for illegally obtaining stimulants are severe.
  9. We are not doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists nor lawyers
Do not give medical or legal opinion or advice, and please do not ask for same. Posts and comments should come from a place of lived experience. This is an inappropriate forum to discuss, for example, whether you should change your dosage or not, which should be discussed with your doctor. Questions relating to the legality of something are best answered by a lawyer. Any comments giving medical or legal advice or opinion will be deleted, and any responses to such questions need to be anecdotal.
  10. Posts must be ADHD related
Other mental health diagnoses can be discussed but there needs to be a connection to ADHD
  11. We are speaking from lived experience
One way does not suit everyone but sharing multiple experiences can benefit everyone. Please don’t argue to someone’s unique experience!
  13. No Spreading of Misinformation
Please ask questions and share your own experiences, however, unless your content specifies a particular study or other piece of evidence, please do not spread information which may not be accurate. Every contention or argument must be adequately referenced. Examples of appropriate and relevant evidence are recent peer-reviewed research papers, randomised controlled trials or meta-analyses (this list is non-exhaustive but all must include statistically significant evidence).

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
