No glorifying, praising, or promoting stand mixers (kitchen-aid or others)
Items made with stand mixers are allowed. However, posts that primarily showcase or glorify stand mixers or other kitchen equipment are not permitted. Discussion about how to use, maintain, or compare equipment is welcome, but posts centered on the appliance itself may be removed.
No asking for recipes in a Showcase (No Recipe) flaired post
Posts flaired **Showcase (No Recipe)** are meant for inspiration or sharing bakes just for fun. Recipes are **optional** on r/Baking and only required when using the Recipe flair. Requesting a recipe on Showcase posts is not allowed and comments will be removed to prevent user pile-ons. OPs are prohibited from using the Showcase flair to taunt, bait, or provoke the community regarding withheld recipes—doing so will result in post removal and potential mod action.
No AI Content
Images shared must feature **real bakes**, with at least one genuine photo of the bake. AI reference or inspiration images may only be admissible alongside your bake when clearly disclosed. AI tools cannot be used to materially alter or fake a bake’s actual appearance. AI-generated recipes, text, or links to AI recipe sites are allowed if disclosed, non-promotional, and relevant. **If you suspect undisclosed AI content, please report or message the mods** rather than accusing posters

  2. No links to restricted or gated platforms (pinterest, instagram, facebook, tiktok, etc)
    Posts or comments linking to **restricted or gated platforms** are not allowed. This includes sites that require login, account creation, app installation, or external sign-in to view content (such as Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or similar platforms). r/baking prioritizes content that can be viewed freely by all users. **Gift links that provide free access without login** (e.g., NYT Cooking or America's Test Kitchen gift links) are typically allowed.
  3. No memes
    No memes. r/baking focuses on baking projects, techniques, and related discussion. Meme-style posts are outside the subreddit’s content scope and may be removed.
  4. No glorifying, praising, or promoting stand mixers (kitchen-aid or others)

    Posts/comments violating Reddit terms of service and/or reddiquette will be removed.
  8. No asking for DMs
    Asking users to move conversations to direct messages (DMs or private messages) is not permitted. r/baking encourages information to remain public and accessible within the thread so everyone can benefit from the discussion. Comments such as “DM me for the recipe” or requests to continue the conversation privately may be removed. Requests to move conversations to DMs are also commonly associated with scams or off-platform transactions and are not allowed.
  9. No AI Content

  10. No Harassment / Civility
    Harassment, bullying, or targeting other users is not allowed. This includes personal attacks, insults, intimidation, or encouraging others to harass someone. Disagreements about baking, techniques, or recipes are fine, but they must remain civil and focused on the content rather than the person. Comments or posts that cross into harassment may be removed, and repeat or severe violations may result in a ban.
  11. Flair must conform with Flair Guidelines

  12. Moderator Discretion
    Moderators may remove content or take action when it undermines the integrity, safety, or intended purpose of the community, even if it does not fall neatly under a specific written rule. This rule exists to address edge cases, evolving behaviors, bad-faith participation, or loopholes not explicitly covered elsewhere. It serves as a safeguard to protect the overall health, standards, and culture of r/baking.
  13. Content Must Be Baking-Related
    **Posts and comments must be directly related to baking.** Content should focus on baked goods, baking techniques, ingredients, or baking discussion.
