This community is for sharing information and budgeting tips. In an effort to cut down on scammers, any post that is asking members for financial assistance will be removed. Repeated attempts will result in a ban. - No Budgeting Platform Requests/Discussion
Please use the megathread(s) for all discussions and recommendations of budgeting platforms/software. This helps keep the community focused on budgeting methods, strategies, and advice. Posts asking for platform recommendations will be removed. Additionally, low-effort comments that only name a platform without providing specific, helpful advice related to the OP's situation will also be removed. This rule is effective 5/05/2025.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
