What this page is

This page quotes r/buildapcforme's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/buildapcforme's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

All 6 rules of r/buildapcforme
  1. Request posts must complete request template questions provided in automod comment.
  2. No joke/troll requests or suggestions.
Build requests are for a configuration you actually intend to build. We do not allow "unlimited budget" requests. Do not provide joke or troll builds in response to requests.
  3. Contributors must adhere to submitter's template answers as closely as possible.
Parts lists should, as much as possible, adhere closely to the submitter's answers to the request template questions. If a particular request cannot be filled within the budget provided, add a short note to your post indicating what had to be skipped and why.
  4. Keep discussions civil.
Keep it civil. If you disagree with some choices in a parts list, or have suggested improvements, reply to that comment mentioning them or simply submit a comment of your own with an improved parts list and explanation for the changes. Discussion and debate helps us all learn, but personal attacks and similar behaviours will not be tolerated.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
