This sub is for discussion around buying businesses - deal sourcing, valuing, due diligence, legal & accountancy costs, financing the acquisition, everything to do with acquiring a business. Add value by posting insights, advice, new info & build 10+ karma in THIS sub before mentioning third party services / products (or linking). This sub is for funded buyers only, not "no money down" bros. Please read all the rules below before posting or commenting.
What its rules say about promotion
No self promotion, don't drop product / service names if you're new here
If you have provided extensive value in this sub first ie. some useful information, insight, tips etc. and built some karma in THIS sub - mods may look at your link / product / brand / site mention more leniently. Otherwise don't link and don't mention a name or we'll suspect you're a spammer. No other self-promotion or seeking sellers / buyers.
No selling / buying here!
This sub is for discussions around buying a business, not for actual buying or selling businesses. Post your 'investment criteria' or even suggest you're a buyer / seller looking for deals & you'll get an immediate ban! Take that kind of post to r/sellabiz.

- No self promotion, don't drop product / service names if you're new here

Otherwise don't link and don't mention a name or we'll suspect you're a spammer. No other self-promotion or seeking sellers / buyers. - Have a question about buying a business? Provide full context
Have a question about buying a business? Provide context in your post. Not everybody here is US based. State country (and maybe even state). Provide size of deal, sector, your budget, whether you have experience buying businesses etc. If you want help, take the trouble to provide context! Low quality posts without adequate context could get deleted. - Do not mention DMs, solicit DMs or attempt to move the conversation
Do not publicly encourage people to contact you or state that you've sent a DM (or email). You can contact people privately by DM, but do not comment about it in the thread! If you can't DM, it may be because your account is new. Go build some karma first. No soliciting, no 'free offers', no public attempts to take the conversation elsewhere or take it private. - No selling / buying here!

Take that kind of post to r/sellabiz. - Definition of business for purpose of this sub
If it's not a trading entity generating revenue, it's not a business. This is not a place for discussion about buying any other assets, inventory, shell (non-trading) companies, software, websites, apps, crypto, domains or anything else but trading entities. - Be professional and polite
Post like you would if your real name is behind the post and like your boss could be reading it. A bit of banter, and being blunt is okay but nothing racist, abusive etc. - Anything off-topic (or not in English) is spam
Previous rules describe what is acceptable here. Anything else, and any post / comment not in English, is considered off-topic and could be considered spam. Don't drop in here to run a survey, don't do research for a tool / product / service you're developing. This is not a place to collect names / assemble a group. - Right to moderate / other reasons
The listed rules are not exhaustive. Moderators reserve the right to moderate (or not) where it is believed to be in the best interests of the sub. If there is some reason you wish the moderators to use their discretion, hit the report button on a post / comment and send a mod a DM to explain your reasons.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
