What this page is
This page quotes r/CarAV's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/CarAV's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). What its rules say about promotion
Self-Promotion & Spam
Self-Promotion is allowed provided you follow Reddit's guidance (https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043504051-What-constitutes-spam-Am-I-a-spammer). Additionally: - If posting your own content/business, limit your posts to once per day. You may post multiple links in a single post. - You can promote in comments provided it's relevant to the discussion. - If promoting your own business offering goods/services, state clearly that you are a representative of said business.
All 5 rules of r/CarAV
- Always Follow Reddiquette & The Reddit User Agreement
At all times users must follow Reddiquette (https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette) and the Reddit User Agreement (https://www.redditinc.com/policies/user-agreement-september-25-2023). Posts/comments that violate any of Reddit's policies can result in removal of the offending posts/comments and/or the user being banned. It is the user's responsibility to be aware of Reddit's content and conduct policies when posting. **Do not assume you will get a warning.** - Self-Promotion & Spam
Self-Promotion is allowed provided you follow Reddit's guidance (https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043504051-What-constitutes-spam-Am-I-a-spammer). You may post multiple links in a single post. - You can promote in comments provided it's relevant to the discussion. - If promoting your own business offering goods/services, state clearly that you are a representative of said business. - Keep Posts Relevant To The Community
All posts should be relevant to the CarAV Community. Car audio, video, security, and directly related topics, memes, and news are permitted. Posts offering or soliciting music recommendations should be related to content that provides utility to community members. Good music for demonstrating your audio system is allowed. Your favorite driving music playlist is not. - Posts & Comments Should Be Helpful, Receptive, & Constructive
When making posts or comments, you should be helpful and constructive first and foremost. While strong opinions and heated debate are inevitable, posts/comments that are entirely insulting, dismissive, abusive, or disparaging are not beneficial to users seeking help and make your post/comment less effective and/or reduce the likelihood of getting useful answers and assistance. When asking for assistance, remember that the correct answer may not always be the desired answer and be receptive. - Keep Content & Post Titles Generally Safe-For-Work
This is a generally SFW community. As such, content including nudity, overt sexual themes, gratuitous vulgarity, or other overtly obscene or lewd topics may be removed at the discretion of moderators. **Post titles should be free of vulgar or obscene language.** The language used in you posts and comments is not restricted beyond the requirements of Reddiquette & The Reddit User Agreement.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
