All 10 rules of r/CharteredAccountants
- Advertisement/Solicitation
Advertisement and solicitation of any kind is not permitted in the sub. The first offence may result in a ban up to 30 days. A repeat offence results in a permanent ban. All bans are at moderator's discretion. - No identical posts
Before posting check if a similar post already exists. Posts similar to existing ones are not allowed. - Content Relevancy and drama/meta drama
The posts on the subreddit must be relevant to the Chartered Accountancy course. Posts that are found to be irrelevant or of no material benefit towards the members of the subreddit will be removed. Additionally, no links/screenshots to instagram, facebook, twitter, other social media with the intent to further metadrama will be tolerated. You may create a meaningful high quality post, referring to the social media post instead, minus the metadrama. - Keep it civil a.k.a don’t be a jerk
In order for discussions to thrive here, we need to remember to criticize ideas, not people. So, remember to avoid: a. name-calling b. ad hominem attacks c. responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content. d. knee-jerk contradiction Comments that we find to be hateful, inflammatory, or harassing may be removed. If you don’t have something nice to say about another user, don't say it. Treat others the way you’d like to be treated. - Submitting posts/resume with private information.
For privacy reasons posts/resumes with private info like phone number and legal name will not be allowed. Please blur such details before submitting. Also it recommended to blur the name of the college/school, although not necessary. - No clickbait titles or titles with insufficient info allowed.
Post questions and issues in title itself. Clickbait titles not allowed - No unofficial chat groups
Unofficial Chat groups offline and online (WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.) could lead to a number of safety considerations we cannot moderate. Neither is it possible to verify whether such groups are as claimed. - No posts outside exam and result threads
This sub was and always will be a safe space for students during exam time. We understand that its important for many to keep distance from engaging in any discussion to focus on upcoming ones. This keeping this in mind, all discussions post about the exam threads will be removed and redirected to the designated exam threads. Further to avoid cluttering, all results posts will promptly be removed and will be redirected to the result thread - Doxxing/Vigilantism is strictly prohibited.
Sharing personal information or doxxing can lead to a permanent ban on your account by Reddit Admins (not CA mods) as it's against Reddit's sitewide Rules (Read Rule 3 of Reddit's content policy). This applies to all content, including posts, comments. When posting screenshots, be sure to edit out any personally identifiable information to avoid post/ comment removal. Don't post anything inviting harassment, don't harass, and don't cheer on or upvote obvious vigilantism. - Sharing of Copyright Material
Unless it has been cleared by the copyright holder, sharing copyright material is to be avoided. Why do we need additional legal headache eh?
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
