All 12 rules of r/chimefinancial
- Read our guidelines prior to posting
Our [community rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/chimefinancial/wiki/rules/) give an overview of what is and isn’t allowed in this subreddit. We also offer a FAQ Wiki page that provides information and answers to many commonly-asked questions and topics. - Be Civil, Respectful, and Follow Reddiquette
We expect all members to be courteous and welcoming. This means no harassment, targeted insults, hate speech, intentionally inciting drama and conflict, or the use of derogatory language. Also relevant are the less-obvious Reddiquette standards like searching for other similar threads prior to posting and keeping titles descriptive but opinion-free. For more information, please see this helpful article on [Reddiquette](https://reddit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette). - All $ChimeSigns Belong in the SpotMe Boost Megathread
We have a dedicated, weekly megathread for SpotMe Boosting and $ChimeSign sharing. In order to keep the community feed clean, please do not create standalone submissions. - No Fraud, Promotions, Affiliate Links, Asking For Money, Money Handles, or Spam
All of the above-listed are considered Disallowed Content and will be removed if shared here. We don’t allow self-promotion, solicitation, asking for money, or anything that constitutes spam. - Respect Member Privacy and Don’t Share Account Info
In order to help ensure the community stays safe for everyone, please do not share personal or Chime account information, either yours or others. This includes the Full Names of other members. - This is NOT an Official Member Support Channel
While we recognize individual situations are impactful, we engage with the community here in an official capacity and cannot offer personalized support. Please contact us directly via the Chime app or 1-844-244-6363 for assistance. - Official Chime Accounts
Only accounts listed on the Subreddit Moderator List and distinguished with flair as Chime Staff are Official Chime Representatives. Chime will never call, email, or message you to ask for personal information or passwords, though you may be asked to share your $ChimeSign if it will aid in resolution. - Submission Titles Should be Descriptive and Opinion-free
So that other members can immediately identify the purpose of a thread, all submissions must have descriptive titles. Clickbait or posts titled similar to “Hello”, “I Need Help”, “Question”, or “This Sucks” may be removed. Posts should also be conducive of discussion, without single-sentence, low-effort submissions. - Avoid Duplicate Posts
In order to keep the sub clean, please search recent posts to avoid duplicates. This will keep the conversations together and create a better community experience. - Allowed Topics Within the Subreddit
This is a place for current, former, and prospective members to discuss Chime and its features, as well as all things money – whether about budgeting, getting out of debt, success stories, and more! If your post applies to most of our members, this is a good place to have that conversation; if it’s a specific incident you are experiencing, the community here would not have the necessary context so Member Services is better to support. They can be reached via the app or 844-244-6363. - All SSA/SSI/VA discussion in the Megathread from around 20th-29th
We have a dedicated monthly megathread for SSA/SSI/VA discussion from **around** 20th-29th. In order to keep the sub clean, please do not create standalone submissions for this purpose. One post celebrating on deposit day may be permitted but others will be deleted to keep the conversation together. - Direct Deposit timing discussions in the weekly Megathread
We post a weekly Direct Deposit Timing Megathread each Monday for members to discuss the timing of their direct deposit. If it’s anticipated early or arriving later than usual, please do not create standalone submissions for this purpose.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
