To encourage discussion, please be prepared to answer any questions you get regarding your post. Promoting your music is fine, but please interact with the community and field questions regarding your process, programs/hardware involved, etc.
Don't over-post
Don't flood the sub with posts at a high rate. Let other users have a chance to post, be it for self-promotion or just sharing a cool tune. If you're posting more than once a day, that may be deemed excessive and your posts may be removed.

- Use post flair to tag your post
To help users sort posts by type, /r/chiptunes has implemented a post flair system. Once your post is live, please select the most relevant flair for your post. Most should be obvious. Tutorials, tips/tricks, links to hardware/software, sample packs, patches, etc. all should be tagged with RESOURCE If you want constructive criticism on your track, tag it with CC_REQUEST - Don't post things unrelated to chiptunes
Posts not directly related to chiptunes are not relevant to the sub and may be removed. (Yes, chiptune memes are related to chiptunes.) - Leave a meaningful comment with your link post
If you post a link, you must add a meaningful comment explaining something about your post. "Check out this chiptune I wrote" is not sufficient to encourage discussion. You could tell listeners what genre your tune is, or what program/hardware/tools you used to make the track. You could tell listeners why you think the post is worth their time, etc. Posts without comments or low-effort comments may be removed. - AI generated music is not allowed. Humans only please.
