Can you promote on r/Choir?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/Choir's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-06. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Choir's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No spam
Restrained and unambiguously on-topic self-promotion is permitted; spam is not. You may share your choir, concert, recording, composition, arrangement, event, project, service, or other relevant work. Please participate in good faith rather than using r/Choir primarily as an advertising channel. Repetitive promotion, indiscriminate cross-posting, link dumping, scams, and other spam may be removed.
All 4 rules of r/Choir
  1. Keep it relevant
Posts should have a meaningful connection to choirs, choral singing, conducting, repertoire, arranging/composition, rehearsals, performances, auditions, education, administration, or the choral community. Adjacent topics are welcome when the connection to choir is clear.
  2. Don’t be needlessly hostile
Disagreement and criticism are welcome, including strong criticism of individuals, organizations, and conduct. Personal attacks, harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, and comments whose primary purpose is to insult or demean others may be removed. When giving feedback on another person's singing, conducting, composition, or performance, keep it constructive—especially when criticism was not explicitly requested.
  3. Support creators and copyright holders
Do not request or share pirated scores, recordings, or other copyrighted material used without permission.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
