Command line tools (CLIs) uses only typed commands and show text output in an tool called a terminal. TUIs are complete apps that ditch the mouse entirely for fast keybard interaction. They're often faster than using a mouse in traditional apps (GUIs). CLI - Command Line Interface apps & tools. TUI - Terminal User Interface apps & tools. GUI - Graphical User Interface (traditional apps).

r/commandline is for notable posts and comments related to command line & terminal things. - Spamming includes >3 posts per day, & making the same post(s) too soon. - No URL shorteners or redirectors. - Posts may be considered low quality under mod discretion. - AI Code Policy
- **Post text or titles generated with AI are strictly prohibited.** - Projects will be mainly judged by their overall quality: how much human effort was put in, & how interesting or noteworthy it is. - Largely (low quality or un-reviewed) AI-generated projects are strictly prohibited. - If more a small portion of code is AI-generated, then the post must have a note in the post or title like so: `This software's code is partially AI-generated`. - No new projects newer than 30 days. Shared projects must be interesting.
If your project was recently created (less than a month ago) and or has only a few commits (also refer to the AI policy rule) it will be removed. Projects shared must be a little unique rather than something that has been created many times. - No generative AI-related projects (except for popular ones, keep reading)
We do not allow projects or software that interacts with generative AIs, including LLMs, unless the posts and comments are about popular projects themselves like Ollama, GGML, etc. - State your affiliations with paid things
