Welcome to r/decantswap! A place for fellow fragrance enthusiasts to buy, sell & trade their new & used decants! Please familiarize yourself with the rules and suggestions of the sub prior to buying or posting.
What its rules say about promotion
New Accounts
A 90-day Reddit account AND 100 COMMENT karma are required to post in an effort to reduce scamming on the sub. The only exception is having 10 verified sales references from other Buy/Sell/Trade subs. For these cases, please send a modmail with proof to be considered for approval. Any karma farming posts (e.g., r/freekarma) will result in being banned from the subreddit.
Thread Titles and Content
All new thread titles must start with [WTB], [WTS], [WTT], or [GIFT]. We only permit the sale of decants/samples (bottles are NOT permitted), so there is no need to end the title with (Decant). Noncompliant posts will be automatically removed. We only permit transaction posts: the poster must intend to buy, sell, or trade fragrances and must be concise (no pitches/emojis). Other posts, such as callouts or defenses, will result in a permanent ban.
Offsite Links
Please do not include external links in your posts or comments, unless they fall into one of the following categories: Photo links (e.g., Imgur, Google Photos), Detailed lists or inventories (e.g., Google Sheets, OneDrive, etc.), Order forms (e.g., Google Forms for decanters). Do not share links to outside sales or referral sites, including social media. Do not direct folks off Reddit to make purchases on other platforms (eBay, Mercari, depop, etc).
Allowable Items
This sub is for buying, selling, and trading decants. Decants can be made to order, resold from reputable sources, or sold in a packaged discovery set / collection. If decants are resold, the estimated juice level needs to be clearly indicated in the sale post and/or images. Decanting supplies may also be sold in this sub. Please use r/fragranceswap or r/femfragranceswap for the selling, buying, and trading of bottles.
Auctions, bidding, offers, and raffles
This sub is for buying / selling / or trading decants! This sub is not an appropriate place to conduct research. This sub is not an appropriate place to advertise your new app, website, or *whatever*. All [WTS] listings must clearly state a fixed asking price. Auction-style sales, bidding formats, or "highest offer" arrangements are strictly prohibited. Raffles are also strictly prohibited.
Scamming/Counterfeits
Scamming: Reports with proof will result in a permanent, non-appealable ban. Confirmed scammers will be added to the Universal Scammer List (https://universalscammerlist.com). Buyers are responsible for protecting themselves, too (see Rule 3). Selling decants with fake or adulterated juice, even unknowingly, will result in a permaban; limited appeals may be considered. Send reports over ModMail.
Reposting and spam
Users may not repost the SAME items (to buy, sell, or trade) within 72 hr. This includes deleting a post & reposting it, posting a WTS & reposting it as a WTT (or vice versa), or posting a WTB & reposting it as a WTT (or vice versa). Violators will be warned upon first offense, followed by a temp ban. Buyers, sellers, and traders should not delete old posts. You may create new posts without items posted in the past 72 hr. Multiple items to buy/sell/trade should be listed in one post.

- Etiquette
We will not tolerate homophobic, transphobic, racist, etc. slurs or any other language that intentionally marginalizes a member of the community / is obviously trolling. In general, don't be a dick. NOTE: Callout posts and doxxing, even of scammers, are not tolerated and can result in removal of your account from Reddit. Send Modmail and/or report scammers! - New Accounts

New sellers who do not possess 15+ sales flair MUST ONLY ACCEPT PayPal (NOT Venmo) G&S as payment. Legacy counts towards the 15. When using G&S you may only charge up to the fee incurred. Sellers under 15 sales flair who request non G&S options will be permabanned. Buyers who pay sellers with under the required flair using non G&S options will receive a 30 day temp ban from the sub, followed by permaban for second offense. We ask that anyone breaking this rule be reported to the mods. - Decants / Inventory on hand, payment procedures, and shipment time
Sellers must have the decants (or supplies plus adequate inventory) physically in their possession before accepting any payment. If a seller cannot fulfill the order a refund must be issued. Buyers must pay for shipping before the seller ships the item. Sellers who do not ship within 3 business days may receive disciplinary action up to a ban (barring extenuating circumstances). If the seller communicates effectively with the buyer, up to a week may be acceptable depending on the circumstance. - Confirming Transactions (PerfumeBot / Flair)
All users must confirm successful transactions via the PerfumeBot flair system: ** Creating a new, single post(s) in order to receive/verify flair is prohibited. Transactions MUST be verified on the original post that was created. ** - Thread Titles and Content

In contrast to our sister sub, r/fragranceswap, we are very strict about post formatting. All posts should be formatted in accordance with our Wiki: https://www.reddit.com/r/decantswap/wiki/post-formatting/. All [WTS] posts MUST include a price with attached currency symbol ($, €, £). Sizes must also be clearly listed in either mL or oz. Posts that do not include a currency symbol and size measurements will be automatically removed. If an item has been bought/sold/traded please do not remove photos, pricing, sizes, or items! Once an item has sold or been traded, please mark your post with "SOLD" flair or comment "sold" in the comments to mark the post as sold. Users may edit posts as needed, however, frequent edits may result in Reddit's filters marking the post as spam.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
