What this page is

This page quotes r/DeveloperJobs's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/DeveloperJobs's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

What its rules say about promotion

No Monologuing / "LinkedIn Cringe"
The main reasons to post here should be for seeking or offering employment. The occasional discussion related to one of those things is okay, but no long winded ramblings or lectures (especially from profiles who seem from their post history to have the singular purpose of promoting some blog or other paid resource).
No Self-Promotion / Surveys / Referral Links
No referral links to sites, courses, or any other paid products or resources. And no promotion of personal blogs, youtube channels, or the like. Also if there is an impression that your engagement here is to encourage users to look at your post history and see what you're selling, that may also be met with a suspension or ban. Also, this is a subreddit for individuals looking for work, so no contracting firms advertising either (unless you are an individual freelancer).

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
