Can you promote on r/F1Discussions?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/F1Discussions's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/F1Discussions's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No promos, sales, or gambling
r/F1Discussions prioritizes original, high-quality content—not self-promotion. Be a contributor. Advertising, selling, trading, or begging for anything (tickets, merch, autographs, etc.) is not allowed. Gambling posts or links are strictly prohibited.
All 8 rules of r/F1Discussions
  1. Respectful discussion only
We encourage lively, even passionate debate—especially around controversial races—but personal attacks won’t be tolerated. Criticism of teams, drivers, and figures is fine, but abuse, hate, or excessive negativity has no place here.
  2. No trolling behavior
r/F1Discussions is a welcoming space for all fans. Don’t post just to provoke, troll, or incite reactions. Gatekeeping threads or posts targeting others will be removed and may lead to disciplinary action. Retaliating against rule-breaking content is also a violation and will be handled accordingly.
  3. Zero tolerance for Racism or other forms of discrimination
r/F1Discussions does not tolerate racism, xenophobia, ableism, or any form of prejudice—this includes dogwhistles and “jokes.” Stereotyping users or public figures based on nationality or background will lead to immediate bans. Respect individuals or face removal.
  5. No Low-Quality Posts
All posts must meet a basic standard. Low-effort or low-quality content will be removed. Posts must foster original, meaningful discussion. The following will be removed: easily searchable questions, duplicate news, low resolution images, social media screenshots without context, single sentence opinion threads not backed by reasoning or sound argument, reckless unsupported hot take posts. Simply posting your hot take and providing zero reasoning or explanation can result in a ban.
  6. No linked surveys for personal use.
    No linked surveys or questionaires.
  7. Make Proper Use of the Weekly Discussion Mega Thread
All users must make proper use of the weekly Mega Thread where it applies. Repeated violations may result in a ban. Topics that must go in the Mega Thread: Driver comparison and rankings, GOAT Debates, hot takes, basic F1 questions, and opinion posts that aren’t deserving of a standalone post. Additionally all discussion related to Abu Dhabi ‘21 must be confined to the Mega Thread. We all have our opinions on it, but they will no longer be heard in the main feed and must go in the Mega Thread.
  8. No Fan Warring or Attacking Any Fan Groups
Debate and fair criticism of teams and drivers are welcome. Attacking or generalizing other users based on who they support is not. Examples of prohibited content: - Stereotyping fan bases (e.g. "Tifosi are...", "Cult MV3...", "Team LH...", "Chuck LeCrash...", "Typical Landroid post/comment" etc. - Mocking user flairs (e.g. "Flair checks out") - Escalating arguments Violations of this rule can result in mod action including warnings or bans. Disagreements are fine, toxic attacks are not.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
