What this page is

This page quotes r/Fosterparents's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/Fosterparents's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Ask questions about parenting, licensing, or resources for your kids. Our sub is a place to share your wins, seek support for your challenges, understand processes, and ask other members of the foster care community for advice or support. Parents/family of youth in care, youth currently or formally in care, CASAs, agency/state workers, GALs, etc. are also welcome to participate.

What its rules say about promotion

Respect that we care for children who have experienced trauma and the challenges that presents
Studies have shown the impact of ACES (adverse childhood events) on both physical and emotional development. Studies have also shown the importance of trauma-informed practices in educational and therapeutic settings as well as in the home. We support and promote trauma-informed parenting skills and practices.
No bullying, verbal abuse, name calling, or bashing foster parents
This is primarily a sub and safe space for foster parents to seek support and resources. We are here to better ourselves and care for the youth entrusted to us. We acknowledge that the foster system has flaws, and we acknowledge that there are inadequate, unsafe and even abusive foster homes. Constructive and instructive criticism are welcome, and can promote growth and learning. Verbal attacks, destructive criticism and negative criticism regarding foster parents are not welcome here.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
