r/Friendship is about friends. You should be friendly. Don't insult, harass, abuse, or otherwise be rude to anyone on this sub, for any reason. Someone else breaking a rule does not make you breaking a rule okay. Instead of engaging with a rude person, you should report it and ignore it. - No romantic, sexual, or NSFW content. No asking for user names to chat apps
This sub is meant for platonic friendships only. Do not make any romantic or sexual advances. No "M4F / F4M". No asking for Snapchat, Kik, etc. NSFW content, including users who have NSFW content on their profiles or comment history, will result in a permanent ban. - Don't reach out to minors if you are not a minor.

- Karma/account age requirement
All users must meet our minimum karma requirements to post or comment in r/friendship. Please read our pinned post for a clear description. Automod will remove any content that doesnt meet our requirements. This is to ensure that our community remains safe and welcoming. Please do not send us a message to inquire about our karma rules. It's a question we do not/will not answer, nor do we override, and asking may result in a ban at the mods' discretion.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
