What its rules say about promotion

All 5 rules of r/GetStartups
- Respect others and be civil
No harassment, hate speech, or toxic behavior. Treat all contributors and members with kindness. - Be Transparent
If you are sharing a project or service, clearly state what it is and what problem it solves. No misleading titles, exaggerated claims, or hidden intentions. - Promotion and Links
You are allowed to share your SaaS, startup, or product links. However, posts should provide context and value (what it does, why it exists, or what feedback you want), not just a bare link. - Respectful Engagement
Constructive feedback, discussions, and criticism are encouraged. No personal attacks, harassment, or toxic behavior toward other members or their projects. - Relevant posts only
All posts must be related to startups, SaaS, apps, indie projects, or founder experiences. Off-topic content may be removed to keep the community focused.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
