Don’t post referral links, affiliate URLs, or repetitive self-promotion. Retailers and brands may not post promotional content without mod approval.
All 4 rules of r/golfequipment
- Be respectful
Debate gear all you want, but personal attacks, insults, and harassment aren’t tolerated. Disagree with the post, not the person. - Stay on topic
Posts must be related to golf equipment — clubs, bags, balls, tech, fitting, and gear reviews. General golf discussion belongs in r/golf or similar subs. - No spam or affiliate links
Don’t post referral links, affiliate URLs, or repetitive self-promotion. Retailers and brands may not post promotional content without mod approval. - Disclose if you work in the industry
If you’re a club fitter, retailer employee, or brand rep, say so when it’s relevant. Undisclosed conflicts of interest will result in post removal.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
