All 7 rules of r/gujarat
- Relevance to the Community
This subreddit exists for Gujarat, Gujaratis, and Gujarati culture, whether you're a native, part of the diaspora, or simply interested. - Posts and comments must connect to Gujarat, its people, or Gujarati/Indian topics, directly or indirectly. - Indian politics is welcome, not just Gujarat specific political discussion. - Content with no real connection, or a stretched connection meant to dodge this rule, will be removed. - Unsure if something fits? Ask the mod team before posting. - No Hate, Harassment, or Prohibited Content
We do not allow: * Hinduphobia, Indophobia, Misogyny, Misandry * Casteism or caste-based discrimination * NSFW/NSFL content or sexually explicit material * Violent content or calls for violence * Personal attacks and deliberate hostility toward members are covered here too. * Violations are removed on sight; repeat offenders may be banned without warning. - Language
- Post must be in Gujarati, Hindi or English. - Posts may be removed if the language hinders accessibility, clarity, or violates subreddit rules. - Low quality or effort content
- Users are required to maintain the quality of discourse (do not post low quality or low effort content especially pertaining to potentially inflammatory subject). - No Promotion or Donation Requests
- No advertising, product/service promotion, or donation and fundraising requests without prior mod approval. - Applies regardless of who's asking or the cause, personal, charitable, or otherwise. - Message mods first to request approval; it's case by case and doesn't carry over. - Unapproved promotional content is removed without notice. - Promoting your work is allowed within reason, but: No mass-posting or repetitive self-promotion, No commercial advertisements or link spamming - Mod Authority
- Mods can remove content judged harmful to the community, even without a direct rule violation. - Mods can sanction members, including temporary bans, when warranted. - This is a democratic community: eligible members can request a review of a sanction via modmail, and the community has a say in the outcome. - Full review process is covered separately, mods act with accountability here. - Follow Reddit’s Content Policy and Sitewide Rules
- All users must follow [Reddit's Content Policy](https://redditinc.com/policies/reddit-rules) . Violations such as harassment, hate speech, spam, or vote manipulation will not be tolerated.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
