What this page is

This page quotes r/hairstylist's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-06. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/hairstylist's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Welcome to r/hairstylist, a specialized community dedicated to the hairstyling profession.

What its rules say about promotion

No Self Promotion
Please refrain from posting self-promotion, including sharing links to your own services, products or website. Social media may be shared when relevant but should not be execessive. Surveys are not permitted at this time.
Do Not Advertise Your App/Software Here
This is not the place to advertise your AI receptionist/scheduling software/etc. We are not interested. Do not make posts advertising these services, and do not make posts seeking information and input for the purpose of designing/marketing these services. Do not attempt to disguise these posts as genuine conversation.
All 8 rules of r/hairstylist
  1. Be Respectful
Please treat fellow users with respect and courtesy. Avoid offensive language, personal attacks, or any form of discrimination. Failure to do so may result in a ban at the discretion of moderators.
  2. No Service Questions
This subreddit is primarily intended for hair stylists and discussions directly related to the hairstyling industry. We kindly request that questions regarding services, products, tools or hair care be redirected to a more suitable subreddit such as r/Hair, r/haircare, r/hairdyehelp, r/askhairstylists. Questions related to the hairstyling profession and the industry are welcomed.
  3. No Self Promotion
Please refrain from posting self-promotion, including sharing links to your own services, products or website. Social media may be shared when relevant but should not be execessive. Surveys are not permitted at this time.
  4. Include Relevant Details
When asking about licensing, apprenticeships, exams and labor laws, try to include your location. Hairstyling differs greatly by country and even province or state.
  5. No Snark or Gossip Posts
This subreddit is a professional space for hairstylists to discuss the industry and share knowledge among peers. It is not a gossip forum. Discussions about influencers or drama should be directed to other, more appropriate subreddits.
  6. No Photos of Client Faces and Identifying Information
Please do not post photos of a client's faces without blurring or otherwise concealing their identity. We don't have a way to be sure that they gave consent to have their photos/identities shown publicly. If you want to show off your work or ask for advice, please make sure to respect their right to privacy and blur or otherwise cover their face. This also applies to texts or messages where their full name or number is visible.
  7. No Fetish Content.
Absolutely no fetish content is allowed here.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
