Can you promote on r/HingeStories?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/HingeStories's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-06. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/HingeStories's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

Promoting Business/Pickup Artist Techniques
No promoting personal business or giving pickup artist techniques.
All 10 rules of r/HingeStories
  1. No stats without a screenshot of your profile
Any post on your stats need to include context of screens of your photos and prompts.
  2. No tribalism
Lumping all men and all women’s behavior into one is not allowed. We want a health discourse between different people. Saying “why are men like this” “why are women like this” will get your post deleted.
  3. No cross posting
All new post must be original. Linking to other subs is forbidden
  4. Be civil and respectful
Name calling is never allowed, if someone is rude report the post
  5. No personal ads or seeking a partner/companion
There is literally the sub r/r4r
  6. Faces must be covered
Other than sharing your own profile for feedback and faces need to be covered/blurred of a profile you're sharing
  7. Survey
No surveys without first getting permission from the mod team.
  8. No Support Questions or Ban Evasion
The only way around a ban is a review by Hinge or buying a new device with a different phone number. We do not discuss ban evasion techniques here.
  9. Promoting Business/Pickup Artist Techniques
No promoting personal business or giving pickup artist techniques.
  10. Post need to have conversational value
Bragging, post having nothing to do with online dating and crowdsourcing post will be removed.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
