Can you promote on r/Homebuilding?

This sub is for discussion and questions concerning all aspects of the home building process - whether in a development by a large builder, custom homes, or DIY projects. While the perspective is generally that of the (future) homeowner, topics from builders and contractors are welcome. NSFW content will result in a ban. Self-promotion and ads are not permitted. No politics.

No advertisements or self-promotion
Posts intended to influence or direct readers to use or purchase a product or service are not allowed. Posts that even smell like market research for your product/app/AI tool are also explicitly disallowed. You will be banned. Some perceived self-promotion could be a gray area - sharing a build log via social media might be acceptable for an active poster who is here to discuss the process, but drive-by spamming and not engaging the community wouldn't be.

  1. No NSFW content
    Nobody needs to get fired for browsing this sub. Note: Some leeway here. Sexual content is a no-go. Workplace injury with a story people can learn from? Maybe. Flag it in case people are averse to gore.
  2. No advertisements or self-promotion
    Posts intended to influence or direct readers to use or purchase a product or service are not allowed. Posts that even smell like market research for your product/app/AI tool are also explicitly disallowed. You will be banned. Some perceived self-promotion could be a gray area - sharing a build log via social media might be acceptable for an active poster who is here to discuss the process, but drive-by spamming and not engaging the community wouldn't be.

    It's just easier. Keep it to yourself.
  4. Be kind
    Your opinion is valued, but don't be a prick. Know that everyone has different tastes. Try to provide valuable and proactive feedback in a constructive manner. Understand that everyone here has something to learn, and something to contribute.
