* This is not the place to *debate* or *attack* religious beliefs (or the people who hold them). * Nor is it the place for people to attempt to sell their beliefs. * However, some homeschool curriculum is inseparable from a religious worldview. This is perfectly okay. * Links which have some religious overtones are acceptable. *BUT, please tag them*.

  1. Please report all spam. This includes apps, "platforms," AI tools, etc.
    Spammers are constantly finding ways to circumvent our countermeasures. You can help by reporting spam. The mods will get to it. Your “free” app, printable, website, YouTube channel, etc. is spam to us. Your market research or academic survey is also spam to us. We will ban you without warning or explanation because we are too busy to talk to time thieves. And then you will act surprised that your wonderful resource was considered spam.
  2. Do not demean people for their religious beliefs.

  3. Please be supportive, and kind to one another.
    This subreddit strives to be a welcoming, inclusive, and cordial community. We do not want you to agree with everyone, but you will respect your fellow Redditors. Disagree with a post or comment? You are encouraged to voice your opinion and persuade us to change our minds. But you must accomplish this with reasoning and cordiality.
  4. Stay focused on what everyone wants
    Stay focused on what everyone (*hopefully*) wants: To raise smart, well-rounded, responsible children.
  5. Add flair to your link / post if it applies

  6. Let’s not gripe about our parents, spouse, in-laws, cousins, acquaintances, co-op, etc.
    Reddit’s algorithms or perhaps a weakness in human nature causes gripes, gossip, and drama to go viral. We do not need these kinds of posts: “My parents lock me in the basement with nothing to do except memorize the dictionary.” “My husband wants me to educate our children while he supports the family. What a jerk!” “My neighbor’s kids are feral. I hear them howling at the moon. They might even be unvaccinated!!!” “I once met a homeschooled kid who can’t count past five.” Take it to AITA.
  7. Cross posts, hit & run posts, links to idiotic posts on other subreddits
    It’s just noise and drama.
  8. This is not the place to advocate banning or regulating homeschooling.
    Calls for the use of government force against parents are often masked by innocuous euphemisms such as “oversight” or “accountability.” Oversight by whom? Accountability to whom? Please focus on improving your own life before trying to control other people.
  9. Try not to abuse the English language.
    We are educators. We don’t expect perfection, but we do expect you to make an effort to respect our language. For example, we begin sentences with capital letters, and we spell out all three letters of the word you.
  10. No drugs.
    We do not advocate drugging children here.
  11. The mods don’t have time to argue with you. If we think you might be time waster, you’ll be banned.
    We are busy parents volunteering our time. Some users consume an undue amount of moderator attention by flouting the rules. So we ban them.
