    Make the title very informative. In the title, ask exact question which is TLDR/Summary of your post. Add as many specific keywords as you can in the title (related to your specific situation). All vague titles (and content) posts will be removed.
  2. Be Civil and Kind, Do not abuse other users
    Be civil and kind. No abuse, trolling, sarcasm meant to belittle, or inflammatory remarks. Treat others with respect.
  3. Avoid Political Discussions
    Avoid political or ideological debates. Keep posts/comments focused strictly on study abroad experiences, planning, and academics. Comments that turn threads into political/economic arguments will be removed.
  4. Do not spread misinformation. Do not provide negative judgement without providing context
    Do not spread misinformation or speculative claims. Always back advice with reliable sources or firsthand experience. Misleading, sarcastic, or bad-faith comments will be removed.
  5. Post in relevant megathread
    Whenever relevant, please directly post in the megathread instead of making a separate post
  6. No Brigading or Agenda-Posting
    Do not post or comment with the intent to provoke, brigade, or push unrelated agendas. Off-topic or baiting comments will be removed, and repeat offenders banned.
  7. Stay On-Topic
    All discussions must be directly related to study abroad planning, applications, academics, or student life. Off-topic jokes, rants, or low-effort comments will be removed.
  8. Moderator Discretion
    Moderators reserve the right to remove content or ban users who are disruptive, even if their behavior doesn’t fall under a specific rule. The goal is to keep the sub civil, accurate, and useful.
  9. Surveys and Promotions are not allowed on this sub.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
