All 9 rules of r/InlandEmpire
- Be Civil and Respectful
Treat others with basic human decency — this subreddit is for respectful discussion about the Inland Empire. No attacks, slurs, insults, harassment, trolling, hate speech, or intolerance of any kind. This includes coded language (“dog whistles”) tied to hate groups or extremist ideologies. Repeated or severe violations may lead to a ban. - Keep It Relevant to the Inland Empire
Posts must be about or directly impact the Inland Empire region (San Bernardino + Riverside counties and surrounding areas). If your post could be about anywhere, it doesn’t belong here. - Political Posts Must Be Local and Civil
Political content must directly relate to the Inland Empire (local elections, policies, officials, etc). No national political soapboxes. Posts that use local events to launch national political or “culture war” debates will be removed. Per Rule #1, all discussion must remain civil. No hate speech, no inflammatory language, no name-calling, no trolling, no coded language ("dog whistles"). - No Low-Effort, Repetitive, or Spammy Posts
Posts should contribute meaningfully to the Inland Empire. Content that is low-effort, irrelevant, spammy, or designed to stir up drama may be removed. Avoid off-topic memes, vague or repetitive posts, self-promotion, and replies that are unhelpful or meant to provoke. - No Low-Quality or Clickbait News Sources
To maintain the quality and integrity of this community, news posts must come from established, reputable sources (such as KTLA 5 or the Press-Enterprise) and must be shared using direct links — not shortened URLs like TinyURL or Bitly. - No Personal Ads, Jobs, Sales, Goods & Services Posts
Use our sister subreddits for the following: - r/IEList – For buying, selling, goods and services including pets and housing - r/InlandEmpireSocial – For social events, making friends, and community connection - r/IEJobs – For job postings and employment opportunities - r/inlandempirepersonals – For personals and dating. Sexual solicitations are not allowed even if implied with innuendo or emojis. - Free community resources (Dental, Health, etc.) may be allowed 1x/month at moderator discretion. - Use the Weekly Events or Mega Threads
Please utilize our pinned threads! When a Megathread (ex: Holiday events, Subreddit News) or a Scheduled Thread (ex: the Weekly Events Thread) is active, all related discussions, quick questions, and updates must be kept within that specific post. Standalone threads covering these topics will be removed to keep the main feed clean. If you believe your event deserves its own post, please use ModMail to contact the moderation Team for approval first. - No Social Media Links Requiring Logins
Any social media post must be publicly viewable. Posts linking to Twitter/X, or other sites that force logins to view content may be removed. Instead, consider posting a screenshot of the content or finding a source that is publicly viewable. - No Doxxing or Sharing Private Info
Do not post private or identifying information — including names, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, or screenshots that reveal personal details. Do not ask others to help identify someone. Even if the information is publicly available elsewhere, it may still be removed out of caution.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
