What its rules say about promotion

Do Not Self-Promote
To maintain a healthy balance in the community, please follow a 9:1 contribution ratio. For every 1 self-promotional post you share, such as links to your own content, products, or services, make at least 9 meaningful, non-promotional contributions first. This can include participating in discussions, answering questions, or sharing helpful resources from others. The goal is to encourage genuine engagement and prevent spammy behavior.
No Link Spam
This community is not a platform for promoting your personal website, blog, or external content for traffic. While relevant resources may be shared when they genuinely add value to the discussion, repeatedly posting links to your own content without meaningful participation or context will be treated as spam. Posts or comments made primarily for self-promotion, backlinking, or traffic generation may be removed and can result in moderator action, including bans.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
