If you're asking for help or troubleshooting assistance with a particular Mastodon server (instance), you will be more helpful if you can tell us the specific server you signed up on. Mastodon itself is an open source software project and there are many independent server operators. There are two servers run by the main developer (mastodon.social and mastodon.online), the rest are community-run. We can't help you unless you narrow things down a bit.
