All posts must be directly related to Monash University, its campuses, students or events. Generic memes, low-effort content, or unrelated topics will be removed. Keep discussions and submissions relevant to the Monash community. - No Excessive Trolling
What we consider "excessive trolling": Provocation: Making posts or comments clearly designed to anger or upset other users. Derailing: Intentionally taking threads off-topic to disrupt conversation. Bad Faith Participation: Engaging in discussions with no genuine interest in the topic, often to waste others' time and energy. Goading: Persistently antagonising users. - Respect Academic Integrity
No Cheating: Do not post or request solutions to ongoing assignments, exams, or any work intended for individual assessment. Directly copying content without proper attribution is also prohibited. No Soliciting or Providing Unauthorized Help: Do not ask for others to complete your academic work for you, nor offer to complete theirs. Proper Citation and Attribution: When discussing or sharing information that is not your original thought or work, always give credit to the original source.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
