What this page is

This page quotes r/mtgfinance's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/mtgfinance's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). What its rules say about promotion

No threads asking what to do with your cards or money
Please do not submit threads asking what you should do with a particular card, cards, or your money. If you have a question regarding how/where to sell cards, or what to do with cards/money, please post a comment in the stickied threads that are posted every few days. We highly recommend utilizing those as a resource.
No Buying/Selling/Trading
This subreddit is not a store. Keep all trade or purchase requests to PMs or the general trading thread on r/magictcg.
No referral links or exclusive codes
Don't use referral links or exclusive codes when sending users to deals such as Massdrop.
All 7 rules of r/mtgfinance
  1. Follow Redditiquette
Follow http://www.reddit.com/wiki/reddiquette This means following all of the site's rules and regulations. Do not abuse other members in any way. This includes harassment, trolling, and other inflammatory comments. No doxxing of non-public figures, no slurs, no threats, and no abuse will be tolerated.
  2. Must be financially related / No counterfeit authentication / Grading Requests
All posts must be related to the financial aspects of Magic. This does not include posting counterfeit authentication requests, show-off posts, or grading questions. Memes allowed on a case-by-case basis. Comments should also strive to be on topic and focused on finance. Comments deemed to be too off-topic may be removed by mod discretion. Do not make posts asking "Is this card real or fake?" This is a finance sub, not a counterfeit authentication sub. There are other resources for that.
  3. No Low Effort Posts
If you are requesting research, or the answer to your question can be found through public knowledge, find it yourself and post it. Don't expect others to do work for you. Posts must contribute to the discussion. SCD, Video and card photo posts must include [a brief summary](https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgfinance/comments/gn5jxy/scd_single_card_discussion_posts_rules_update/). Subject to mod discretion. "Buyer beware" posts require submitting proof with identifying info removed.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
