  1. Respect others and be civil
    No harassment, hate speech, or toxic behavior. Treat all contributors and members with kindness.
  2. Marriage Intentions Only
    This community is strictly for Muslims seeking marriage or discussing the marriage search process. Casual dating, hookups, situationships, and non-marriage-related posts are not allowed.
  3. No Explicit Content
    Keep all discussions modest and appropriate. Sexual content, inappropriate comments, suggestive messages, and NSFW material are prohibited.
  4. No Catfishing or Misrepresentation
    Be honest about your age, marital status, location, appearance, education, profession, and intentions. Deliberately misleading others will result in a permanent ban.
  5. Privacy Comes First
    Do not post personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, workplace details, social media accounts, or private conversations without consent.
  6. No Financial Requests
    Do not ask for money, gifts, investments, sponsorships, visa assistance, or financial support. Any form of scam or solicitation will result in an immediate ban.
  7. No Judging Preferences
    Members may have preferences regarding age, location, education, religiosity, family expectations, and other marriage criteria. Disagree respectfully without shaming others.
  8. No Sectarian Debates
    Sunni, Shia, Salafi, Sufi, and other Muslim members are welcome. The subreddit is for marriage, not theological arguments.
  9. No Matchmaking Without Permission
    Do not post someone else's profile, photos, or information without their explicit consent.
  10. Use a Wali/Family Involvement if Desired
    Members are encouraged to involve family, guardians, or trusted individuals according to their personal beliefs and practices.
  11. Report Suspicious Activity
    If you encounter harassment, scams, dishonesty, or inappropriate behavior, report it to the moderators immediately.
  12. Remember Islamic Character
    Maintain good manners (akhlaq), honesty, patience, and respect. The goal is to help Muslims find compatible spouses in a halal and safe environment
  13. Profile Posts Must Follow Format
    Marriage profile posts must include: Age Gender Location Ethnicity (optional) Marital status Religious practice level Education/Profession What you are seeking in a spouse Low-effort profiles may be removed.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
