No advertising.
Content posted purely to advertise a product, account, or code is not permitted. ***This includes market research for your brand.*** Product lists ARE OK and ENCOURAGED, so long as it’s clearly not advertising a brand. Example: >OK: “I used Essie's Wicked." >NOT OK: “Polish is from my shop @brandname!" / "I used Olive Ave Aster. Use my code ‘save$' at checkout to save!” Social media handle as a flair is OK! As with all rules, your post's removal/punishment is up to moderator discretion.
No distributing personal information.
This includes names, addresses, phone numbers or links to websites/social media that provide similar information, (e.g. Insta or TikTok). This applies to sharing private information about yourself or others. > ⟡ **instagram and tiktok links that have any information after the "?"** ***FOR SAFETY WE STRONGLY DISCOURAGE SHARING YOUR SALON/TECH'S INFO*** Posts/comments that request salon or nail tech referrals in specific cities/areas. All 15 rules of r/Nails
  1. Be civil and respectful.
    There is a **zero-tolerance policy** on anything that could be perceived as bullying, harassment, ridiculing, trolling, or any actions that target an individual negatively. This includes, but is not limited to: insulting an artist's work, criticizing someone's preference/style/color choice/length preferences, criticism when none is asked for, racism/sexism/homophobia/bigotry. As with all rules, your post's removal/punishment is up to moderator discretion.
  2. No asking for/giving medical advice.
    Asking for medical advice of any kind is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to questions such as: > What’s wrong with my nails? > Why are my nails this color? > How do I fix this thing about my nails? > How do I change my nails? > Should I see a doctor? > Is this normal? Making posts asking for medical advice will get your post removed and you banned. Similarly, giving medical advice, warranted or not, will get your post or comment removed and you banned.
  3. Tag Your Inspo Pic/No Stolen Content
    ALL inspo pics must be tagged in the TITLE ***or*** the username must be visible in the screenshot. If you didn't take the photo, it needs to be tagged. Found the pic on pinterest? Tag the page you found it on in the title **or** make sure it's visible in the screenshot. >ex. "inspo from @abcnails on pinterest” **Claiming photos that are not your own/claiming stolen content will result in an immediate ban.** As with all rules, your post's removal/punishment is up to moderator discretion.
  4. Keep posts high quality / No trolling and/or spamming
    > ✦ Low quality photos/posts [includes farming, price related posts, etc.] will be removed > ✦ Frequently posted topics &questions will be removed > ✦ No trolling or spamming _______ **FAQs are things that can be answered using the subs search function will be removed or routed to the pinned ★MEGATHREAD★** You know when you’re trolling. We know when you’re trolling. See rule 1 “Be civil and respectful”. Your post/comment's removal/punishment is up to moderator discretion.
  5. No AI creations (human work only!!!)
    No photos/comments made with AI are permitted to be posted. This will result in an immediate ban. All work must be human work and on human hands. This includes concept art where AI is used to put generated art onto digitally created hands. >Nothing made with AI is permitted, this includes AI generated art, photos, comments, graphics, resources, etc. **There will be some exceptions made for inso pics from 3rd party platforms like pinterest.**
  6. Stay on topic / Prohibited backgrounds
    All posts must be related to nails (hands and feet). Prohibited background include faces, body parts (bare or covered), steering wheels, children, etc.) **posts with prohibited backgrounds will be removed and you will likely receive a warning.** Pets and SFW objects are ***usually*** permitted, but your nails **MUST** be the focus. **The background shouldn't be the focus, your nails should be.** ***As with all rules, your post's removal/punishment is up to moderator discretion.***
  7. No NSFW content.
    Keep posts/comments safe for work. Anything sexual, graphic, or explicit will be removed, including any posts depicting dangerous, risky, or illicit activity. This includes, but is not limited to: fetish content (discrete or not), sexual posts/comments, use of drugs/cigarettes/vapes, posts taken while operating a vehicle, etc. As with all rules, your post's removal/punishment is up to moderator discretion.
  8. No advertising.

  10. Flair & Mark your posts.
    Flairs serve as a way to let users know what your post is about and are required in this community. ALL pedicure/feet posts **MUST** be marked with the ***SPOILER*** tag. any posts that are improperly marked or unmarked are subject for removal. ALL photos of broken/damaged nails **MUST** be marked with the ***NSFW*** tag. any posts that are improperly marked or unmarked are subject for removal.   11. No politics.
    No political posts, political keywords, or political debates. Like every other rule, your posts removal/punishment is up to moderator discretion.
  12. CURSED POSE ☃
    •Your post MUST have a clear, “non cursed”/non-angled photo as the first photo in the set. The first photo CANNOT be a "cursed" pose OR angle **and** the first photo MUST be a standard claw or flat hand pose (CANNOT be claw poses with all five fingers lined up). AND •Your post MUST be marked with the “Cursed Pose” flair
  13. NSFW Profiles [Exemplary Expectation]
    NSFW profiles will be held to a higher standard to maintain and ensure the safety of members and to continue our mission to keep this sub SFW. > ★NSFW profiles CANNOT post anything requesting engagement, for example "do you like this color?" > ★NSFW profiles found to be discretely engaging with other NSFW profiles will be banned > ★pedicure posts from NSFW profiles must be both feet on the ground, up to the ankle > ★ profiles with explicit/NSFW usernames/profile pictures will be banned/muted
  14. PROHIBITED QUESTIONS
    **these questions are not allowed, at all, ever. absolutely no exceptions. these comments WILL result in a warning, mute, or ban** > 𖥔 "how do you wipe" [any variation of this, incl. "hygiene concerns"] > 𖥔 "how do you function" [any variation of this] > 𖥔 "why two/three short nails" [any variation of this] > 𖥔 "for free??" [any variation of this] these questions are rude, annoying, and asinine -- end of story & no exceptions
  15. Sunday Q-Day = Nail Care and Salon Experience Questions Day
    sunday's are reserved for nail care & salon experience question day. sunday's are for posts that include FAQs (see pinned post). this is aimed declutter the feed &keep posts high quality while still making space for people who are learning. > **sunday topics include, but not limited to: ALL general nail care question, posts that can be answered by searching the sub, & salon questions, etc.** **if you do not want to wait until sunday to post, you are welcome to post in the pinned ★MEGATHREAD★**
