Allowed, with limits Its rules allow sharing your own work, with conditions they spell out.
What this page is
This page quotes r/omarchy's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/omarchy's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
Be Mindful With Self-Promotion
Self-promotion is allowed in moderation, especially when it’s genuinely useful to Omarchy users. **Generally fine** - Sharing a tool, script, or project you made for Omarchy - Announcing a project with context and discussion **Not encouraged** - Repeated promotion of the same project or service - Constant links to personal blogs, YouTube channels, or monetized content If you’re promoting something, please use the **I Made a Thing** flair and participate in the community beyond posting links.
All 6 rules of r/omarchy
- Support Requests
While we do allow support posts, they must be unique and benefit the community. Explain the issue concisely and accurately, with enough detail for others to understand and respond meaningfully. Questions covered in the manual will be removed. Support posts are limited to users with established histories here to cut down on low-effort and repeated requests. Discord is the official support channel, linked on the Omarchy site. Low-effort or repeated posts will be removed. Use the Support flair. - Stay On Topic
Posts should relate to Omarchy or the wider Omarchy/Arch ecosystem. Anything that drifts from Omarchy or turns generic may be removed to keep the sub relevant. This includes general Linux or hardware posts with only a loose connection to Omarchy, unrelated projects that only borrow the Omarchy name, Omarchy themes or configs on other operating systems, and "ports" that run Omarchy's user layer on another distro, kernel, or base system. - Low Effort Posts
Posts must contribute something meaningful to the community. Low effort posts include vague questions with no context, one-line discussion prompts with no real substance, support requests without enough detail for anyone to help, and posts where the body just restates the title. If your post is meant to start a discussion or debate, share your take, provide context, or ask something specific. Posting a broad question and waiting for others to do the thinking is not a discussion. - Be Mindful With Self-Promotion
- Be Civil
Disagree, debate, and critique ideas, but keep it respectful. Personal attacks, insults, name-calling, and bad-faith arguments are not tolerated. If a discussion gets heated, step back or move on. Targeting other users, moderators, or community members will result in moderation action. - No Politics
This community is about Omarchy as a distribution, its installation, configuration, customization, and ecosystem. It is not a forum for political debate. Posts or comments that focus on politics rather than the distribution itself will be removed. If a policy or event directly impacts Omarchy's development or functionality, discussion should stay focused on the technical implications.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
