Can you promote on r/readwise?
No rule mentions promotion None of its rules mentions self-promotion. That is not permission: read every rule, say plainly that it's yours, and make the post useful on its own.
What this page is
This page quotes r/readwise's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/readwise's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

All 8 rules of r/readwise
- Be kind
We won't tolerate any form of harassment, bigotry, discrimination and attacks directed at any individual or group. Whatever the mod team deems as harassment will result in an instant and permanent ban with no explanation needed. - Think of this subreddit like a neighborhood restaurant.
Imagine you manage a restaurant. One day a stranger walks in and goes from table to table, "This joint sucks. You should go to my preferred restaurant instead." You'd try to address that feedback, but in the meantime, you'd politely ask that person to stop bothering others or leave, right? We try to avoid moderating too heavily, but if you were in our position, you’d do the same thing. There are other forums than our own turf for you to spread that message. We hope you understand. - Keep the conversation on topic
If you’re replying to another user, please keep your responses helpful, kind, and specific to the OP’s question. Replies are not the place to take out your own grievances. You can email hello@readwise.io for that 😛 Posts in breach of this rule will be removed - Submit bug reports in-app or over email
99% of the time we need your account details to successfully troubleshoot an issue. In order to best resolve your issues, please submit bug reports in-app or to hello@readwise.io. Bug reports posted here will be removed and you will be asked to submit these through a channel where we can safely obtain your account info. If you’re not sure if the issue you’re experiencing is a bug, you can ask in the pinned post. - Parsing issue? Use our in-app feedback or Canny board.
Please familiarize yourself with how we prioritize parsing fixes here and submit your parsing reports either in-app or via Canny: https://www.reddit.com/r/readwise/comments/1b81pjy/march_monthly_parsing_competition/ Freestanding parsing reports will be removed. - Have a feature request? Use the pinned post.
In an effort to keep this subreddit tidy and provide the best possible service, we maintain a pinned post (reset monthly) dedicated to collecting feature requests. If you prefer using Reddit to suggest new functionality (as opposed to emailing us at hello@readwise.io), please reply under that thread. We'll gently remind OPs who bend this rule 😉 - We keep this subreddit current.
We want this subreddit to be a source of truth for our apps and how they currently perform. As such, our team will occasionally archive old posts that no longer reflect our products' current capabilities or performance. - Follow Reddit's own content policy
A copy of this policy can be found [here.](https://www.redditinc.com/policies/content-policy)
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
