Can you promote on r/shopify?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

This subreddit is a forum to ask or seek any information regarding Shopify. Store owners can discuss any Shopify-specific issues. Note that this is a promotion-free sub and the rules (please read them) are very strictly enforced. Your post must be specific and unique to the Shopify platform.

What its rules say about promotion

Soliciting, Promotion, or Direct Soliciting via DM
This should be self-evident. This is a place to exchange helpful information freely, as posts that stay up will help others in the future. This is not the place to promote yourself or services to the members here. Violations and attempts to circumvent this rule by "recommending someone" inviting private solicitation via DM or request for DM will result in a ban. This also includes 'offers to help' (even if free), or 'looking for help' posts or comments.
Store, Course, or Illegal Theme Resale
If you attempt to resell or freely offer paid themes or courses that you didn't create or have resale rights, you will be issued an instant and permanent ban. You will not be warned, you will not be told to stop, you will be banned instantly. Store sales are also not permitted to due to our inability to protect buyers from scams. Likewise, posts looking for 'how to sell my store' will not be allowed.
No spamming or links to external content.
The sharing of any links, be it in a YouTube description or otherwise is not allowed. Content marketing via blog articles will not be allowed. Please avoid links for signup for Shopify as well as for apps and external courses.
All 11 rules of r/shopify
  1. All Posts must be related to Shopify Exclusively
    All posts must be directly and exclusively related to the Shopify Platform - no posts with issues that may pertain to ecom stores in general. Dropship-related posts should be made to relevant groups like r/dropship or r/dropshipping. If you have a specific issue with a Shopify seller, this is not the place for that; Shopify is not a marketplace like Amazon; buy at your own risk.
  2. No Store or App Reviews / Feedback
    All store reviews must be posted to r/reviewmyshopify unless part of an AMA / approved review thread.
  3. No Success Stories / Guides / How-To / Blogspam / AI
    No unsolicited AMA (ask me anything) posts, success stories, 'how I made' posts, expert guides, blogs, 'top' lists, I analyzed 5,000 stores..., case studies, 'what we learned' etc. Longform posts that are clear blogspam, suspected AI (in the view of a moderator) or reported as such may be removed.

  7. We are all grown ups (well, most of us...).
    Abuse and racism is not accepted. Please report any posts or comments. Please do not use this if you simply disagree with the poster.
  8. No 'Dev Research' or App Developer posts
    Posts looking for 'pain points' of store owners, beta testing, app reviews, app validation ideas, or other posts that are looking for ideas or feedback on apps or app / software ideas are not allowed.
  9. Account Requirements
    Our minimum account age requirement is 30 days, and our minimum karma requirement is 20 'comment' karma AND 20 'post' karma (these are different than your overall karma). Your post or comment will be auto-removed if you do not meet these requirements, and moderators will not respond to requests to waive these requirements.
  10. No AI or Suspected AI Slop
    Obvious or suspected AI content is not welcome here in any form. Violations from lower-karma accounts with little contribution history in this sub may result in a ban. This will be at the sole discretion of the group moderators.
  11. No 3PL Related Posts
    There are plenty of other groups for 3PL-related posts; this sub has been inundated with them. This will not be the place for 3PL discussion.
