What this page is
This page quotes r/SouthJersey's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/SouthJersey's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). What its rules say about promotion
No ads, classifieds, personals
Posts looking for friends are ok. Posts for EVENTS are ok. Posts selling, advertising, or looking for sexytimes are not permitted.
All 7 rules of r/SouthJersey
- Don't be an asshole
NJ has the kindest assholes you'll ever meet. With that said, there's a level of being an asshole when it becomes your entire personality. Being "Devil's Advocate" applies to this rule. If your post has negative karma, you're probably being an asshole. Repeated violations of this rule will result in your account's posts being restricted until you can get good with your karma again. - Hate Speech
Hate speech is not welcome here. You know the kind. Normal Jersey hate is OK, just don't be surprised if you get downvoted. Reddit's ToS still apply in this subreddit. We do not allow any variations of the mentally disabled slurs either. We are better than that. - You belong here, if you actually make good faith posts
Management reserves the right to remove posts from accounts that have never posted in our community before, show no post history in any of the surrounding areas, or trolls that target local subreddits. We wish this didn't need to be a rule, because NJ is a welcoming place usually! Don't be like shoobies during the summer. This rule may change when people can behave like adults. - Report button
THE REPORT BUTTON IS NOT FOR DISAGREEMENTS. Downvote the post and move on. This helps automoderator and reddit combat shitposts. - Changing comments to gibberish instead of deleting them
If you edit your comments to gibberish instead of deleting them, you will be banned. People use this community to search for useful information. When you edit your comment to be gibberish instead of editing it, it detracts from the post. Just delete your comments like a normal person if you don't want them to be seen. - No ads, classifieds, personals
Posts looking for friends are ok. Posts for EVENTS are ok. Posts selling, advertising, or looking for sexytimes are not permitted. - Bootlickers will be labeled as such
If you are a bootlicker, we will give you the bootlicker flair. In these trying times, it is useful to know who we're conversing with. Thanks for understanding!
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
