  1. No Self-Promotion Without Context
    Do not post links to your business, product, or service without meaningful discussion. Promotion is only allowed if it adds real value (case study, breakdown, lessons learned). No check out my site posts.
  2. No Spam or Lead Generation
    No affiliate links, cold outreach, DMs for services, or disguised marketing. Repeated promotion or low value posting will result in a ban.
  3. Provide Value & Effort
    Low effort posts will be removed. Include details, context, numbers, or specific questions. How do I start a business? without context will be removed.
  4. Be Specific When Asking for Advice
    Include your situation, industry, budget, and what you’ve tried. The more specific you are, the better the community can help.
  5. No Get Rich Quick or Hustle Hype
    No vague make $10k in 30 days posts, guru content, or unrealistic claims. Share real experiences not hype.
  6. Respectful & Constructive Discussion Only
    No personal attacks, insults, or toxic behavior. Criticism is fine, keep it constructive and helpful.
  7. No Illegal, Fraudulent, or Unethical Topics
    No discussion of scams, tax evasion, fake reviews, or anything that violates laws or ethics.
  8. No Surveys, Market Research, or Homework Posts
    Do not ask users to fill out surveys, validate your idea with no effort, or do your work for you.
  9. Use Clear Titles & Relevant Flair
    Make your post easy to understand. Misleading titles or vague posts may be removed.
  10. No Reposts / Search Before Posting
    Common questions get asked often. Use search before posting and add something new to the discussion.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
