Self-Promotion: Do not post your own services, themes, or plugins unless it directly solves a technical problem being discussed. Spam: Low-quality posts or repetitive content will be removed. Note: Relevant links to official documentation or free security tools are allowed.
On-Topic Content
Posts must relate to malicious automated traffic and defense. Allowed topics: Identifying Bad Bots (Scrapers, Spammers, DDoS). WordPress Security & Server Hardening. "Stop Bad Bots" Plugin support & feedback. Log analysis and bot-fighting strategies. General tech or off-topic posts will be removed to keep the focus on cybersecurity.
No Job Posts or "Hiring" Requests
This subreddit is for technical discussion and bot defense only. Prohibited: "Hiring", "For Hire", or "Gig" posts. Recruitment ads or job offers. Freelance service solicitations. We want to keep the community focused on cybersecurity and the Stop Bad Bots plugin. Please use dedicated subreddits like r/forhire or r/wordpressjobs for these requests.
All 6 rules of r/StopBadBots
  1. Respect others and be civil
No harassment, toxic behavior, or backseat moderating. Treat all contributors and members with kindness. Do not accuse others of being bots, and do not act or pretend to be a moderator if you are not part of the mod team.
  2. No spam
Promotion, spam, or advertising of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes: Links: No affiliate links, URL shorteners, or links to paid services/products without prior mod approval. Self-Promotion: Do not post your own services, themes, or plugins unless it directly solves a technical problem being discussed. Spam: Low-quality posts or repetitive content will be removed. Note: Relevant links to official documentation or free security tools are allowed.
  5. Professional Conduct (No Politics)
Keep discussions technical and professional. Political debates, ideological arguments, or non-technical geopolitical discussions are off-topic and will be removed to maintain the focus on cybersecurity defense.
  6. Account Age and Karma Requirements
To prevent spam and mitigate automated bot activity, we enforce a minimum account age and karma threshold for new posts: Account Age: Minimum of 30 days. Combined Karma: Minimum of 10 points. Posts from accounts that do not meet these criteria will be automatically removed. If you are a legitimate user, please participate in comments to build your karma before creating a new thread.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
