Can you promote on r/ToxicFriends?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/ToxicFriends's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/ToxicFriends's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No videos or advertising.
All 9 rules of r/ToxicFriends
  1. Don't be rude or negative to other people.
Be kind and courteous to others. We are a positive community, looking to uplift its members. Dont trespass this rule. Criticism, aslong as it is done in a friendly way and clearly done to better the person, is allowed.
  2. Flair your posts correctly.
Just do it man. Not that hard. And it saves the mod/s alot of time.
  3. No memes except on Sunday.
Memes are not allowed except on Sunday GMT, 00:00 To 23:59. They will be removed.
  4. No simple uplifting/inspirational/motivational quotes, images or videos.
They can be useful, however they are not exactly to do with toxic friends, and, in my experience, are useless. Better to just ban them all.
  5. Use common sense and keep things on topic.
Yall have it. If something feels off, or not quite right, to post in this community, dont post it. If you REALLY want to post it but arent sure, mail the mods. One will get back to you soon enough. Also, KEEP THINGS ON TOPIC. Breaking the on-topic rule will be a very swift ban/removal of post.
  6. Mods rule is final.
It doesnt have to break these rules to be removed or punished for. Mods, at their discretion, will remove or punish things that are not in these rules. If yu have been unfairly removed or punished, shoot the owner Scampi a DM.
  7. No videos or advertising.
  8. No personally identifying information.
This is to protect peoples identities, avoid starting witch hunts and yea. Just black it out and we wont have any problems.
  9. No Reposts.
Reposts are detrimental to this subreddit. HOWEVER. If it is a followup post, such as you wish to thank people for helping you, or there was a new development in it and you want some more advice on the same thing, or something like that, it is not reposting.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
