Can you promote on r/ucf?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/ucf's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/ucf's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No Soliciting
Donations, selling things, or looking for thing to buy are not permitted. There are other places for that. Used textbooks and iClickers will be permitted, as well as employment opportunities via Handshake or UCF directly. Housing Ads are not allowed. Redirect housing ads to r/UCFStudentHousing.
All 10 rules of r/ucf
  1. Relevant topics only
No content that isn’t UCF related. Social content is acceptable, but other things outside of this isn’t allowed. Refer to the Posting Guide for more details: https://www.reddit.com/r/ucf/wiki/index/posting-guide
  2. Be civil
Remember the human behind the screen. No name calling, or general harassment. Lighthearted trolling will be permitted as long as it doesn’t go too far. Submissions and comments that are written to deliberately incite reactions or cause heated and uncivil arguments will be removed.
  3. No Harassment
No sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or other forms of cyberbullying including targeted harassment/witch hunts. We do not condone mob justice or witch hunts to target individuals, this behavior is dangerous and rarely helpful. We want r/UCF to be a welcoming place for all people, and in that spirit, nothing that is hateful or that is targeted harassment based on sexual orientation, race, or gender identity will be tolerated. Violation of this rule will result in an immediate ban.
  4. No Politics
Civil discussion of politics about UCF and UCF Administration will be permitted, but campaigning, brigading, or harassment will not be permitted.
  5. No Personal Information/Doxxing
We do not allow personal information to be posted on the subreddit for any reason. This includes license plates. Do not post any content that could lead to legal or disciplinary consequences. Do not post unsubstantiated and defamatory rumors. Posting information with the intent of doxxing will result in an immediate ban.
  6. No Illegal Activity
No academic dishonesty. Dealing illicit substances and other criminal offenses is strictly prohibited. This will result in a perma-ban and may be reported to the authorities.
  7. No porn or otherwise NSFW content
There are places for that, r/UCF isn’t that place.
  9. No spam, low quality, repetitive posts
If you can reasonably obtain the information by googling it or searching the subreddit, please don’t post it. Posts will be removed if a megathread relating to the topic is pinned. "Chance Me" and hook-up posts are not permitted. "Is this a scam?" posts are not allowed either. If you have to ask, it is. If you still don't know, check [UCF's infosec scam advisory webpage](https://infosec.ucf.edu/scam/).
  10. No breaking site-wide rules
    Find those rules here: https://www.redditinc.com/policies/content-policy

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
