Allowed, with limits Its rules allow sharing your own work, with conditions they spell out.
What this page is
This page quotes r/UNIFI's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/UNIFI's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
Spam
We do not allow spamming or promotion of yourself or business. We do make exceptions for some blog sites or useful youtube type videos, depending on the quality of the content and the person producing them. We strictly enforce the Reddit Rules on self promotion. If you want to share a post/video/site that you run, please contact the mods first.
Trading, Swapping, Selling
We do not allow the subreddit to be used for the selling, trading, or swapping of items/devices. Sharing a link to a sale on say, Amazon, NewEgg, eBay, or other large ecommerce site is permitted. This protects everyone from being scammed.
All 8 rules of r/UNIFI
- Posts must be about Unifi
Submissions must be primarily first-party Unifi related. Third party or self/made tools that interact with Unifi do not count as Unifi related Self posts must contribute positively to /r/unifi and foster reasonable discussion. Cross-post self posts are not acceptable. Ubiquiti posts unrelated to Unifi should be directed to r/ubiquiti - Spam
- Inappropriate Assistance
We do not tolerate people giving out obviously incorrect information / help / advice. It creates distrust and makes it hard for people to find legit advice for the problems or questions they may have. - Trading, Swapping, Selling
We do not allow the subreddit to be used for the selling, trading, or swapping of items/devices. Sharing a link to a sale on say, Amazon, NewEgg, eBay, or other large ecommerce site is permitted. This protects everyone from being scammed. - Bad Behavior
We do not tolerate excessively rude or condescending posts and comments. We are all entitled to our opinions, and are allowed to express them within reason. However, there is a line you should not cross. - No "Spotted" posts
No images or posts that are simply "spotted" or "Spotted in the wild". These posts do not provoke conversation that is meaningful and does little to advance the subreddit. - No Low Effort Posts
A low effort post is any post that does not meaningfully add the the community. These includes image only posts, ranting posts, or any other posts deemed low effort. These posts add nothing to the community or foster discussion. These posts will be removed. - No Show Off Posts
No posts showing off your purchase, setup, installation, personally made “how-to” videos, or anything else. These posts do not foster real and meaningful discussion, and are better suited for /r/homelabs or another sub.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
