What its rules say about promotion
Material Posts Must Provide a Unique Functionality
Wallpapers and Tools created must do or provide something original. Rewrites of tools and similar looking programs are not permitted if they add nothing unique. (Example: If you want to showcase things like a fetch tool you created, check out other communities such as r/sysfetch. Window Variety
To give us a better idea of how you use your system, screenshot and workflow posts must show at least two windows with at least two different applications. Scripts, TUI apps, and other programs running within a terminal only count towards one application type. Other applications may include a file manager, browser, text editor, or similar. Widgets and non-conventional windows may not be taken into consideration if they do not showcase enough of your overall setup.

Only post content related to the ricing of \*nix systems. This includes - Screenshots of your system - Workflow: A video showing how you use your system - Hardware: Photos of your machine running \*nix - Material: OC you have created (ex: Guides & Tools) - Discussion posts - Other: Mod approved content Concepts, WSL, Termux, Mterm and similar are not permitted. Tech support belongs in either other tech subreddits or our pinned Weekly Workshop. - Use Correct Tags
Every post type comes with its own rules for [tags] in the title - Screenshots & Workflow require your WM or DE in square brackets. Example: [Xfce]. Do not tag [OS] or other general use software. - Hardware requires [DEVICE]. Example: [Desktop] - Material and Original Creation requires [OC] - Discussions must start with a | then a space ([why?](https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/wiki/info/faq)) Using the correct tag means the bot flairs it correctly and also makes it searchable. - Show Significant Customization
Posts must contain meaningful configuration done by the user. Details comments should include general info about what you use, and if you're willing to share them, your dotfiles. Additionally, in order to keep the users safe and encourage a community-first approach to creation, the moderation team might ask for a source on [OC] posts. Unixporn is built on sharing and learning from each other. Leaving a details comment is not required, but is heavily recommended.
