Can you promote on r/unt?
Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.
What this page is
This page quotes r/unt's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/unt's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
No Advertising
Advertisements unrelated to UNT or Denton are prohibited. Selling your stuff is allowed if you are a student or are local to the Denton area.
All 9 rules of r/unt
- No spam
This includes pretty much anything that is completely unrelated to UNT or Denton. - No Advertising
Advertisements unrelated to UNT or Denton are prohibited. Selling your stuff is allowed if you are a student or are local to the Denton area. - Do Not Insult Other Members
Do Not Insult Other Members - No sale of drugs, alcohol, vapes, cigarettes, etc.
Let's be better than the UNT Snapchat stories - No discussion of fraudulent practices or illegal activities
Piracy is fine and does not fall under this rule. - No lease/roommate posts outside of the pinned thread.
- No PDF or Textbook Requests Outside of the PDF Request Megathread
PDF requests are no longer allowed. I have created a megathread that gives you all the resources you need to find your PDF online for free if it is available. If you still cannot find the textbook you are looking for, DM me (u/Roblafo) and I will send you to someone who can get you whatever textbook you need for really cheap. - Post using an established account
Posts made with an account with very little activity may be automatically removed. Substantive posts will be manually approved. Feel free to send a modmail about your post. - No Lost and Found Posts
Please turn any lost items into the Union help desk. Posting lost items online is unsafe and is much less likely to get the item returned to its rightful owner.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
