What its rules say about promotion

No advertisements
Advertisements such as job postings or buying or selling items are prohibited. School clubs are generally okay, provided it is a credible U of T associated organization and not soliciting personal information. If you are unsure about whether your post is allowed or not, you can send a message through modmail.
No surveys or petitions
Sorry, this isn't the right place to advertise your survey or petition to our students. Submissions made which are linking directly or indirectly to surveys and petitions are generally considered spam and not allowed on this subreddit.
All 10 rules of r/UofT
  1. Be nice, be respectful
Please treat other people with civility, respect, and consideration.
  2. Keep content relevant to UofT
You can mostly post what you want, but make sure it's relevant to students at UofT.
  3. No low quality or effort content
Low quality or effort content may be removed at the discretion of the moderators. We don't want the subreddit to be filled with reaction images or single sentence text posts.
  4. No advertisements
Advertisements such as job postings or buying or selling items are prohibited. School clubs are generally okay, provided it is a credible U of T associated organization and not soliciting personal information. If you are unsure about whether your post is allowed or not, you can send a message through modmail.
  5. No surveys or petitions
Sorry, this isn't the right place to advertise your survey or petition to our students. Submissions made which are linking directly or indirectly to surveys and petitions are generally considered spam and not allowed on this subreddit.
  6. No targeting individuals
We discuss issues, not specific people. Anything inviting harassment or vigilantism will be removed.
  7. Multiple posts on the same topic
If there already exists a similar thread on the same topic, please do not create another thread related to it. Try to keep the discussion to one thread only. If several threads are created on one topic, they may be removed.
  8. Usage of flairs
Please give your post a flair which most suits it or it might become removed.
  9. Posting restrictions
Please do not deliberately try to circumvent posting restrictions. e.g. bypass banned phrases or keywords, content length requirements, etc. Your post may be removed as a result.
  10. Contacting the moderators
Please use [modmail](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FUofT&subject=&message=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2FUofT%2Fabout%2Frules%2F) to contact the moderators. Posts that should have instead been sent through modmail may be removed.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
