What this page is
This page quotes r/VinylCollectors's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-07. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/VinylCollectors's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion
For Sales Rules
All sales posts are required to contain location, shipping price, and asking price for each record listed for sale as text within your post. No auctions. Please note that sales posts should NOT simply contain a link to your discogs sale or ebay auction. You may post a link to complete the transaction elsewhere as long as it is not an auction, but you must be willing to complete the transaction through reddit messages. Sellers are required to pay the G&S fee. No self promotion.
Trade Rules
You must be looking to trade specific records and should provide specific releases or genres you are willing to trade for within your post as text. If you are also open to selling the items, please use the 'For Trade' flair while adhering to the rules for sales posts above. All trades are at your own risk! You are highly encouraged to form a better method of communication with your trade partner outside of reddit messaging.
Wanted Rules
Please provide the relevant release details so that we can assist you in finding these items as best as possible. To promote quality posts, 30+ words must be used in the submission text. Please use this criteria to provide information or details about the album, i.e. variant, your offer, etc. If you are interested in trading for the item, be sure to observe the rules for trading posts above.
Guidelines
Posts on this sub should be related to buying and selling only. The occasional post about buying or selling turntables is ok, and it is ok to list other formats in a sale post as long as the post also contains records for sale. Please use goldmine standards for grading. It's also recommended you only use PayPal Goods and Services for sending/receiving money. Any questions or concerns please contact the mod team.
No Flipping
We don't want this place to become flooded with people looking to flip the latest in demand release. To that end, we do not allow people to sell releases <3 months old for more than a 10% markup. If you want to buy or sell new releases at market value, ebay and discogs are where you should do so. This rule doesn't apply to trades, just sales.

Please wait a week between posts. If you have a really large sale we suggest making a google doc. It doesn't matter if you dropped the price or added a couple new records, that doesn't warrant a new post. Also don't delete old posts. The feedback system uses the comments section on posts to work so old posts need to stay up. - No Harassment or Hate Speech
We have 0 tolerance for any harassment or hate speech on this sub. First offense will result in a week long ban, any subsequent offenses will result in a permanent ban. Please report any offenses you come across. - No Deleting Posts
The feedback system is tracked through comments on posts and we have rules about how often people can post. Users deleting posts hurts our ability to track feedback and cut down on spam. - No Karma Farming
This sub has an account age and karma requirement (>7 days and >20 Karma) to post here. We do this to make it harder for scammers to create new accounts and continue scamming. Using free karma subs circumvents this purpose and will result in a #sketchy ban on the USL.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
