What this page is
This page quotes r/WearOS's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-05. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/WearOS's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.
Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.
Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? What its rules say about promotion
Watchface Posts are NOT allowed to be posted on this sub
Posts showing off watchfaces are NOT allowed to be posted on this subreddit. We have dedicated subreddits that you can use to promote your watchface, such are /r/androidwatchfaces and /r/wearosfaces
All 12 rules of r/WearOS
- Be kind 馃挏
Remember the human! /r/WearOS does not allow disparaging, inciteful, and inflammatory comments against other users, so please participate only in meaningful discourse. Obscene or malicious statements may be removed without explanation. - Stay on-topic
This is the Wear OS subreddit. Posts about non-Wear OS smartwatches will be removed, along with anything else not related to wearables. - A little effort, always
Posts must show a little bit of effort. Low-effort posts are decided at the moderators' discretion. These include, but are not limited to: - Blurry image posts - Posts without sufficient context (i.e. "which watch should I get?" with nothing about what you're looking for) - Unnecessary reposts - Use the appropriate flair for your post
You are required to use a flair for your post. This post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/i9miey/some_proposals_for_the_subreddit/) gives you a list of available flairs. If you can't find an appropriate flair for whatever you want to ask, then please leave it blank and get in touch with the mods who will either create a new flair to cover the topic or tell you which flair you should be using from the ones available. - Use the necessary template for App posts
We've recently allowed posts for all kinds of apps to be posted. Paid and Free. Please follow the guidelines and use the template when submitting a post. To be clear, this does NOT include watchface posts. Watchfaces are NOT allowed to be posted in the subreddit. Please use one of the many other subreddits specifically for watchfaces. - Never spam
The /r/WearOS subreddit welcomes contributions from all our users, so try not to flood the sub with your own posts. Everyone has an equal voice on the sub and we want to hear everyone. - Watchface Posts are NOT allowed to be posted on this sub
Posts showing off watchfaces are NOT allowed to be posted on this subreddit. We have dedicated subreddits that you can use to promote your watchface, such are /r/androidwatchfaces and /r/wearosfaces - No community-facing content without prior approval from the Mods
AMAs, Q&As, giveaways, and any other community-facing content must be approved by moderators. [Send the mods a message](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FWearOS) if you'd like to do something cool! - No images without context
Please provide detail regarding whatever image you post: **Battery graph screenshots:** Watch model, settings enabled/disabled, watch face used **Photo of your watch:** Watch model, watch face info. If there is a particular part of a watch you want viewers to notice, like the strap, then include details about that also. **Broken charging rings:** Watch model, length of time you've had the watch for. **Anything else:** Any relevant information in order to get a reply - Broken Charging Ring posts must be flaired and detailed appropriately
When posting an image of your broken charging rings on your watch, please ensure you tag it with the appropriate flair, "Broken Charging Ring". Also, provide the following information to help users understand the condition of the watch: - Make and model of the watch - Length of time you've had the watch for. - How you use the watch - No for-sale/trade submissions
Unless you have an extremely special one-of-a-kind watch you have reason to brag about, all for-sale posts or links to Swappa/eBay listings will be removed. Just post your watch on Swappa and go from there! And if you're looking to purchase a new (used) watch, please go to Swappa/eBay/Amazon/the manufacturer's website rather than looking for a seller here on /r/WearOS. This is to prevent scams/theft. - No duplicate update posts
If a post already exists announcing the release of a software update for a watch, you should not make another about the same update; instead, if you'd like to say that you received the update as well, you may comment on the original post. Any duplicate posts about the update will be removed, except for links to news coverage or your personal review/impressions/questions about said update.
What the written rules don't show
- Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
- Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
- The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.
Let your AI read the rules before it posts.
