Can you promote on r/websitefeedback?

Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

Welcome to r/websitefeedback, where you can submit your websites and get feedback from fellow web designers!

What its rules say about promotion

Include a Link to Your Website
All posts must include a working URL to the website being reviewed. Screenshots alone are not sufficient — reviewers need to interact with the live site.
No Purely Promotional Posts
Posts must be seeking genuine feedback, not using the subreddit to advertise or drive traffic. Posts that read as marketing copy rather than feedback requests will be removed.
Flair Your Post
Use the appropriate flair: Personal Project, Business/Commercial, Portfolio, Student/Learning, App/SaaS, or E-commerce. This helps reviewers give relevant feedback.
All 9 rules of r/websitefeedback
  1. Include a Link to Your Website
All posts must include a working URL to the website being reviewed. Screenshots alone are not sufficient — reviewers need to interact with the live site.
  2. Provide Context in Your Post
Describe what your site is for, who the target audience is, and what specific feedback you're looking for (e.g. design, UX, copy, mobile responsiveness). Vague posts like "what do you think?" will be removed.
  3. No Purely Promotional Posts
Posts must be seeking genuine feedback, not using the subreddit to advertise or drive traffic. Posts that read as marketing copy rather than feedback requests will be removed.
  4. Be Constructive When Giving Feedback
Criticism is welcome and encouraged, but comments must be actionable and respectful. "This looks bad" is not feedback. Explain why and suggest how to improve.
  5. No Requests for SEO Help, Traffic, or Votes
This sub is for design and UX feedback only — not for asking Reddit to visit your site, boost your rankings, or share your link elsewhere.
  6. No Repeated Submissions
Don't repost the same site repeatedly. If you've made updates, you may repost after 30 days — mention what changed in the title.
  7. No NSFW or Illegal Content
Websites containing adult content, gambling, illegal services, or anything violating Reddit's content policy will be removed immediately.
  8. Flair Your Post
Use the appropriate flair: Personal Project, Business/Commercial, Portfolio, Student/Learning, App/SaaS, or E-commerce. This helps reviewers give relevant feedback.
  9. Only Websites
Feedback requests must be centered around a website that you, or your team, built and designed. This is not the place to get product recommendations, feedback on general development tooling, or to verify credibility of websites you've encountered.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
