Self-promotion restricted Its rules restrict self-promotion. Posts that promote your own work are likely to be removed.

What this page is

This page quotes r/WeightTraining's rules as ThreadFox read them on 2026-10-06. The quoted text is the community's; the verdict above is our reading of it. Conditions often decide whether a post fits (a required thread, flair, posting day, account age or karma), and r/WeightTraining's current rules on Reddit always win over this page.

Free, for a specific product: a researched Reddit plan by email (communities whose rules fit your post, quoted and dated), or ThreadFox Lite, read-only tools an AI assistant can use to read a community's current rules itself, through your own Chrome (Claude Code: claude mcp add threadfox-lite -- uvx threadfox-lite). For an assistant that also writes and posts within each community's rules, the ThreadFox kit is $49 once.

Want to post here? Get ThreadFox ($49): your AI (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex) reads a community's current rules, writes one post that fits and posts once from your own Chrome. No Claude? We'll post for you ($99 per 30-day campaign). Free: a Reddit launch plan for your product, ThreadFox Lite or the posting checklist by email.

What its rules say about promotion

No self promotion
Blatant self-promotion and spam are not allowed. You may share your own content (apps, blogs, videos, etc.) only if: • It is directly relevant and genuinely helpful • You are an active member of the community • You are transparent about your affiliation Repeated or low-effort self-promotion will be removed. If you’re unsure whether your post is appropriate, message the mods first.
No promotion of PED use
This subreddit will not welcome posts or comments promoting the use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs). There are other subreddits dedicated to discussion of such things, so keep it out. Any violators will be permanently banned.
All 8 rules of r/WeightTraining
  1. Be civil
r/WeightTraining is not for irrelevant comments/posts or personal attacks that contain bigoted content.
  2. No spam
This subreddit is not for karma-grabbing posts/links/etc. There is also a zero-tolerance policy for OnlyFans/explicit content.
  3. Progress posting
Photos and videos are allowed only when accompanied by a relevant question and context (e.g., form checks). We will also delete all progress posts that do not have detailed captions with useful information.
  4. No medical advice
If you're sick, hurt, disabled, or injured the internet is not the place to go. You should instead find a professional with proper education and experience who can examine and treat you in person, and whom you will be able to hold legally responsible for further injury.
  5. Body fat, "thoughts", bulk/cut
Posts with "thoughts?", "next steps?", bodyfat estimate requests, or "bulk or cut?" captions are not allowed. As per rule 3, posts must have useful information. If we don't have information that led you here, we can't tell you where to go.
  7. No promotion of PED use
This subreddit will not welcome posts or comments promoting the use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs). There are other subreddits dedicated to discussion of such things, so keep it out. Any violators will be permanently banned.
  8. No sumo/arch policing
If you have opinions on someone's arch height on bench press or their choice of sumo stance positioning for the deadlift, keep it to yourself. Policing of these technical aspects of someone's lift is cringe and won't be tolerated.

What the written rules don't show

  • Unpublished minimums. Many communities remove posts from new or low-karma accounts through AutoModerator settings that are not on the rules page, often before a moderator sees them.
  • Reddit's own filters. Reddit's site-wide spam filters can remove posts from accounts that mostly share links to their own site, in any community.
  • The community's norms. Many communities see themselves as peers, not an audience: post where you already take part, and make the post worth reading without the link.

Let your AI read the rules before it posts.

ThreadFox reads a community's current rules, writes a post that fits them, posts once with Reddit's Brand affiliate tag and checks it stayed up. The free ThreadFox Lite reads rules too.
